1 peter 1:14 as obedient children do not conform to the evil desires you had when you live in ignorance.
Living a life of obedience and righteousness in the face of temptation and world desires is the mark of genuine Christian. Peter address the early Christian who were facing persecution and trials he entourage then to remain steadfast in the faith and live a holy life in the face of worldly desires.
Their relationship with God as obedient children should be a call to a holy life. Peter pointed out that they were enslaved to sinfully desire and in ignorance of God truth before they knew Christ. Therefore, there lives as Christian should show clearly that they have rejected the former way of life and embrace a holy life in accordance with good will. They were urged no to conform to the world filled with evil desires.
As believers in Christ, we are remained that we are called into a life of obedience to God. T here should be a clear difference between our former way of life and now that we are in Christ.
It should be our testimony that in the past we were enslaved to greedy, sexual immorality, drunkenness, pride, lying, or other sinful behaviours.
Then, we were living a life of disobedience to God commandment. But now in obedience to God we are no more living in conformity with sinful desires.
We were once ignorant to the things of God but now we understand the will of God. Therefore, let us live a life transformed from sinful desires to a life o holiness.
Lord Jesus, help me to live a life of holiness in obedience to your will AMEN
