Genesis 6:18 But I will establish my covenant with you, and you shall come into the ark, you, your sons, your wife, and your sons wives with you.
At a time when the whole world was corrupt and filled with violence, God singled out Noah for His mercy.
The flood of judgment was about to wipe away every living thing, but God remembered His servant and made a covenant with him.
A covenant is not just a promise, it is a divine agreement that God himself seals with his unchanging Faithfulness.
The covenant God made with Noah guaranteed preservation for him and his household, even in the midst of destruction.
It was an unconditional covenant that God was delighted to fulfill.
Noah faith in God was evident in his obedience to divine instruction to build and enter the ark.
God's covenant with Noah and his family is a picture of what God does with us in Christ Jesus.
Though sin and troubles flood the world, those who are in covenant with him through the blood of Jesus will be preserved.
As we begin this year with covenant Sunday, let us remind ourselves that God's covenant does not broken by time, circumstances, or a human failures.
He is the same yesterday, today, and forever Hebrews 13:8.
His covenant provides protection, provision, and purpose.
Our responsibility is to walk obediently and faithfully with him, just as Noah did.
We are to trust in his promises. This new year, no matter what storms may come, let us be confident that God has established his covenant with us. He will keep us, our families, and everything that concerns us under his covering.
Covenant keepingGod, let your covenant have protection, provision, and peace speak for me in my household throughout this year.
God in his covenant has an unbreakable commitment to preserve His people.
