Being a vessel of divine purpose

Matthew 1:24-25 When Joseph woke up, he did what the Angel of the Lord has commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. But he did not consummate their marriage until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.

The Angel of the lord appears to Joseph in a dream and instructed him to take Mary as his wife, as the child she conceived was from the Holy Spirit.

Joseph obediently took Mary as his wife and did not consummate their marriage until after she gave birth to Jesus, fulfilling the prophecy that the savior would be born of a virgin.

The fact that Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a Virginia emphasizes his divine nature and unique role as the savior of the world.

Mary and Joseph had some roles to play in accomplishing divine purpose.

Their obedience and self control were key to being used by God for his purpose.

Joseph was willing to accept Mary and raise Jesus as his own son despite societal expectations and potential backlash.

The obedience and Faithfulness of Joseph in responding to the divine message of welcoming the baby Jesus is worthy of note.

This demonstrates a willingness to extend Grace and mercy to others, sometimes even in the face of personal pain or betrayal.

This aspects of the birth of Jesus story as profound implications of contemporary societies, which is often marked by division, conflict, and broken relationship.

It challenges us to follow Joseph example and strive for reconciliation and unity in our family, communities, and beyond even when it is difficult or inconvenient.

We can bevessels of God's purpose when we are obedient to God's instructions.

God used those who make themselves available for him.

Lord Jesus, give me grace to be obedient to your instructions that I may be an instrument to accomplish your purpose.
