The highway of holiness

Isaiah 35:8 and a highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called the way of holiness. The unclean shall be for the redeemed. The wayfaring men, thought fools, shall not err therein.

The book Isaiah was written during a time when the people of Israel faced tremendous challenges. They were struggling with the threat of exile, oppression, and the weight of their sins. In this miserable setting that, God, through the prophet Isaiah, introduced a vision of a future where restoration and holiness would reign. The highway of holiness symbolizes the part that leads to redemption.

It is a tangible representation of God promise that guide believers towards a life aligned with his will. It is the way of sovereign Grace that redeems from sin.

Today scripture is not about mere physical pathway. It invites us to examine our spiritual journeys.

The highway signifies the choice we make and the direction we choose in life. It highlights the idea that there is a clear path established by God for those who seek him.

The mention of the unclean not passing over underscores the necessity of purity and righteousness in our lives. It calls us to reflect on our actions, urging us to strive for holiness and to embrace the transformative power of God grace. In our daily lives, we must remain vigilant about the paths we take.

We are called to choose the way of holiness, to make conscious decision that reflect obedience to God. Moreover, we are encouraged to extend God's grace to others who may feel like fools on their journey, that they may find their way when they seek the Lord.

Holly father, help me to walk everyday in the path of holiness.
