Ezekiel 2:6 And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them or their words. Through briars and thorns are all around you and you live among scopiens, do not be afraid of what they say to be terrified by them, for they are a rebellious people.
Today passage is the prophetic calling of Ezekiel, a priest chosen by God to bring a message to the people of Israel during a time of great turmoil and rebellion.
The Israelite had turned away from God, and Ezekiel was tasked with the responsibility of delivering God's word to stubborn and resistant audience.
The imagery of briars, thorns, and scorpions vividly illustrates the dangers and hostility that surrounded him.
Yet in the face of such adversity, the Lord reassured Ezekiel not to fear. God's message of encouragement to Ezekiel reveals the importance of steadfastness in the face of opposition.
In our lives today we often encounter situations that can appear overwhelming.
We may feel surrounded by challenges that causes fear and doubt.
However we are called to rise above these fears. We are reminded that our strength does not come from the absence of difficulties but from the unwaving commitment to our purpose and to God's calling.
Fear can be a paralyzing force. It can deter us from fulfilling our potential and hinder us from pursuing our divine purpose.
Whenever we feel surrounded by fear or doubt, we should remember the reassurance given to Ezekiel and stand firm in our calling.
We are to move forward with courage and conviction. Therefore, let us embrace the call to be fearless in our endeavors, and strive to be messengers of truth.
We are encouraged to demonstrate resilience and faith in our daily lives, even in the face of failure opposition.
Lord Jesus, help me to stand firm in my calling even in the face of opposition. AMEN.
