Betrayal often comes from those close to us.
Judas betrayal was not impulsive, it was predetermined.
He sought a convenient way to turn Jesus over, showing how greed and disloyalty can corrupt even close friends.
One of the followers of christ, judas Iscariot, left the fellowship and the other disciples, symbolizing a turning from loyalty and intimacy with Jesus.
His departure signifies a decisive step into rebellion and moral darkness.
Judas did all these for personal gains however, betrayal can not stop divine purpose.
Betrayal begins in the heart long before it shows in actions.
When one entertain ungodly desires, enemy finds an open door.
It is obvious that judas might have thought that Jesus would escape from the hands of his captors, thereby wanting to get the money alone, but little did he know that this action would cost Jesus life.
So also, we should be mindful that our betrayal can cost some people their job, promotions, marriage and even life.
How will you feel being the cause of someone's pain or suffering? So, we should be wary of being an instrument of betrayal.
In life, disappointments are inevitable, yet God turns pain into promotion.
When hurt, don't retaliate rise higher in grace?
Remember, the cross followed betrayal, but resurrection followed the cross.
Therefore, do not betray and when betrayed, leave everything to God.
Blessed savior, heal my heart from wounds of betrayal, and help me that no one would fall through me.
Betrayal is an evil seed. Don't be the one who sows it.
