God's faithfulness Despite human blunder

Genesis 12:17 But the Lord inflicted serious diseases on pharaoh and his household because of Abram's wife Sarai.

Today's passage unfolds during a challenging chapter in the lives of Abraham and Sarah, as they found themselves in Egypt, driven by fear.

Faced with uncertainty about their safety, they made the grave decision to misrepresent their relationship, claiming that Sarai was merely Abram's sister.

Though Sarai was Abram half-sister, their marriage relationship should have been a priority since she became his wife.

Referring to her as his sister, rather than wife was deceptive and thereby a blunder.

Sarai was taken to pharaoh's palace as a prospective bride, not knowing that she was actually a married woman.

Yet, despite their blunder, God stepped in decisively to guard his promises and protect his covenant with Abraham.

He prevented pharaoh from marrying Sarai by warning him through sickness.

The account of Abraham and Sarah reassures us that God is always watchful over his people and his purpose.

In moments of vulnerability or when external pressures mount, it is easy to feel compelled to compromise.

Nevertheless, God's unwavering faithfulness guarantees that his purpose will ultimately triumph.

He acts as a shield against harm, intervening in our lives to correct mistakes and transform potential setbacks into opportunities for his glory.

As Christians, we are encouraged to rely on God's protective hand,  especially when circumstances appear frightening or out of control.

We also need to be observant about divine act of judgment or correction whenever we make mistakes.

God has revealed himself enough that no one has an excuse to remain ignorant of his will.

Lord, help me to trust in your protection and walk faithfully in obedience to your will.

God would do anything to protect his interest in the lives of his children
