The power of right influence

Proverbs 12:26 The righteous choose their friends carefully, But the way of the wicked leads them astray.

Today's text teaches that the righteous choose their friends carefully, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.

I,n its context, the verse stresses the importance of discernment in relationships because the company we keep can determine the direction of our lives.

The righteous are called to be intentional in influence, both in choosing companions and in setting godly examples, while the wicked live without caution, drawing others into destruction.

Some versions emphasize the guiding influence of the righteous, those who are righteous act as guides to their friends or neighbors, but the wicked mislead them.

Nonetheless, the focus of today's text is the godly influence of the righteous and the bad influence of the wicked.

A young student once joined friends who seemed exciting but had no discipline. Soon, his studies and character declined. later, When he chose friends who loved God and pursued excellence, his life improved dramatically.

This reminds us that friendships are not neutral. They either lift us up or pull us down. As believers we must prayerfully choose companions who will nurture our faith and values, while also being salt and light to others.

In our daily walk with Christ, we need to surround ourselves with godly influences and also be positive influences to others.

We have the choice to either stand out by living a life of godly influence or bad influence in our walks of life.

Our choice of friends or companions is very crucial in determining our active or passive influence.

Almighty God give me wisdom to choose my friends or companions wisely.

The people you surround yourself with influence your behaviors either positively or negatively.
