The hard instruction

Genesis 16:9 Then the angel of the Lord told her, go back to your mistress and submit to her.

Hagar was Sarai's Egyptian maid, who was given to Abraham to get a baby for the barren family.

She began to despise sarai her mistress after she knew she was pregnant.

Rejected and mistreated by her mistress, she fled into the wilderness, hoping to escape her pain.

Yet in the desert, she encountered the angel of the Lord.  Instead of offering escape, God gave her a hard instruction return and submit.

This was not punishment, but realignment with destiny. Through obedience, Hagar would see the fulfillment of gods promise to multiply her descendants through Ishmael.

What looked like humiliation was actually preservation, Hagar was privileged to have an encounter with God through divine Providence.

Hagar's experience reminds us that even in our lowest moments, God sees us.

Many times, our wilderness experiences tempt us to run further from God's will.

We convince ourselves that escape is freedom, but in truth, real freedom comes when we return and yield to God's leading

Sometimes the way forward feels like going backward, yet that very path holds the key to blessing.

Like Hagar, you may feel unseen, but God calls you to trust him even when obedience feels difficult.

The wilderness may hide you, but it cannot hide God's purpose.

Strength comes when you return to his path and trust his plan.

Therefore, when the journey of life seems confusing, let us not miss the opportunity to listen to God and follow his instruction no matter how hard it is.

mighty God, help me to trust you enough to obey your instructions even when it feels uncomfortable.

Obedience may look painful, but it is often the doorway to preservation and promise.
