RESISTING THE LURE OF SIN

Proverbs 1:10 My son, if sinners entice you, do not consent.

The book of proverbs, written primarily by Solomon, opens with wise counsel for daily living.

In today's text, Solomon warns his son against the seduction of sinful companionship.

The text highlights of father's plea to guard against peer pressure and deceptive invitations that lead to destruction.

The word entice implies persuasion with alluring promises, yet the instruction is clear, do not consent.

The message underscores human responsibility in moral decisions.

We cannot always control temptations, but we can refuse to consent.

It reflects God's wisdom that sin begins with agreement in the heart before action in the body.

Temptation promises an easy reward, but yielding compromises integrity.

Likewise, life presents us with daily offers to compromise values for gain, pleasure, or acceptance.

We're encouraged to take a firm stand, regardless of how appealing sin looks.

Victory lies in remembering who we are and choosing righteousness over the pleasure of sin.

Today we live in a world where sin is enticing.

What we see and hear Every Day is extremely tempting.

Sinners are always around us to lure us into sin.

They make us see sin ad very attractive and pleasurable.

Sexual immorality is presented as a pleasurable adventure.

Fraud and vices are seen to be full of benefits.

As children of God, we should know that the happiness offered by sin is temporal and cannot be compared with the joy of godliness.

So we are to make conscious efforts and firm decision to resist the allure of sin.

It is wise to choosr God's ways over fleeting pleasures

Gracious lord, give me grace to resist the enticements of sin.
