Matthew 11:6 Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me.
John the Baptist, who had once boldly proclaimed Jesus as the lamb of God, was now imprisoned and struggling with doubt.
From his confinement, he sent messengers to ask Jesus if he was truly the messiah.
In response, Jesus pointed to his works, the blind seeing, the lame walking, the lepers cleansed, and the good news preached to the poor.
These were unmistakable signs of the promised Christ, yet Jesus ended with this gentle caution, Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me.
He was reminding John and every believer that faith must endure, even when expectations are unmet and understanding is limited.
The blessing belongs to those who trust him despite confusion, delay or trials.
Like John, many believers face seasons when God's ways seem hidden are his silence hard to bear.
In such times, doubt can creep in, tempting us to question his goodness or timing.
But faith is not the absence of doubt. It is choosing to trust Christ despite it.
When we hold fast to Christ in uncertainty, we position ourselves for divine blessing.
God's plans often unfold beyond our sight, but his faithfulness never fails.
The true test of discipleship is believing even when we cannot see the full picture.
We should not allow difficult moments and trials to make us doubt the power of God.
Let us not lose sight of Jesus even when it seems we are abandoned by God.
Heavenly Lord, help me to trust you. Even when I do not understand your plans. Amen.
Faith that survives confusion will always receive divine commendation.
